OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra launched September 3–8, 2026 as the new flagship: stronger agentic work with 1.05M-token context, 128K output tokens, and a $10/M input, $50/M output API rate matching Fable 5.1. GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna launched September 22, 2026, succeeding GPT-5.6 Sol/Terra/Luna as OpenAI's mainline mid-tier and free-tier models (GPT-5.6 Sol/Terra/Luna are still listed in OpenAI's API; GPT-5.6 Cyber is a separate cybersecurity model). GPT-6.1 Sol (September 29, 2026; $2/M input, $10/M output, also in OpenAI's API as gpt-6.1-sol) is in ChatGPT Work and Codex on paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu), not yet in Chat and not on Free or Go.
